Mr. Skaggs was recently hired as a new teacher in the visual arts department. Lookout staff member and editor Reagan Puhak reached out to learn more about him and his life outside of the classroom Below is the transcript of his responses.
Reagan: What classes are you teaching this year?
Mr. Skaggs: Mostly Digital Photography, but also Art 1 and Digital Art
Reagan: Where were you prior to BHS? (i.e. did you teach somewhere else, did you just graduate college, did you change careers?)
Mr. Skaggs Mr. Skaggs: Teaching Ceramics in Wilmington, and before that, down in CT teaching Photography
Reagan: What’s one thing you’re looking forward to this year?
Mr. Skaggs: All the school events and culture, learning just what makes BHS so special.
Reagan: Do you have any children and/or pets?
Mr. Skaggs: 2 bots (2,6) and 2 kittens named Moki and Betty
Reagan: What are your hobbies outside of school?
Mr. Skaggs: Anything outdoor adventuring. Rock climbing, hiking, camping, general woods/mountain fun
Reagan: What are your favorite movies\shows?
Mr. Skaggs: Not much of a TV person, I play video games though, big PC gamer if I have free time.
Reagan: What job would you have if you didn’t become a teacher?
Mr. Skaggs: I’d be a Dirtbag – I’d live outta my van and travel to the mountains all over. Get by on manual labor jobs and just climb rocks and hike all day.
Reagan: What is one place you would love to visit?
Mr. Skaggs: Karakoram mountains in Pakistan
