I love tiramisu and make it every year around the holidays. Here’s the recipe, and if you make it, I hope you enjoy the dessert as much as I do.
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese (you can substitute this with a mixture of heavy cream, sour cream, and cream cheese)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cup cold espresso
- (optional) 3 tbsp brandy or rum
- 1 package Lady Fingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Using a hand mixer, whip the heavy cream while slowly adding in the sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Then fold in the mascarpone with a spatula until fully incorporated. Set this mixture aside
Pour the coffee and liquor (if using) into a shallow bowl and prepare the lady fingers and an 8” x 8” pan. Dip each lady finger into the mixture on both sides and line it on the bottom of the pan. Once there’s a layer of lady fingers, scoop in half of the mascarpone mixture and form an even layer. Repeat this step so there are two layers each of lady fingers and the mascarpone mixture.
Cover with plastic wrap and set the pan in the fridge for at least four hours or up to overnight (I prefer to leave it overnight).
Once out of the fridge, scoop some cocoa powder into a sieve and dust an even layer of it onto the tiramisu.
Enjoy!
