Math Team Midyear Recap

By: Aanya Jain, 2027

The Lookout interviewed Joy Stark, the advisor of BHS’s math team! Read below to get a look into what’s been going on with the team so far!

The math team is off to a strong start,  having a winning streak for all 4 meets so far this year in September, October, November, and their most recent meet this December in Burlington! They are also excited to be competing with new schools in our division this season, including Reading, Canton, and Littlton.

The team would love to recruit some more underclassmen! They have a strong representation of upperclassmen and would love to have some more ninth and tenth graders compete with us. The meets are super fun, with a popular love for the pizza at each meet!

Regarding future competitions, the team has two more regular meets before regionals in March. They are hoping to make it to states, hoping  to keep up their streak from the last two years! Last year they made it past states and to New Englands, hoping to accomplish this again! Ms. Stark says the team is on track and super confident.

The next meet is being hosted here at BHS on January 8th. The team welcomes everyone to come and check them out!
