In Case You Missed It – BHS Shows Out at 24-25 National History Fair

By Mr. Dolan, advisor

Last June, Bedford High School sent three teams of competitors to National History Day in College Park, Maryland, with Anjie Chen earning an Outstanding Entry Award and placing 5th in the nation for her individual exhibit on “The Barbaric Nature of Imperialism,” which explores British Imperialism in China. An image of her project is featured at top.

After a great showing in previous rounds, Abby Cutrona, Matthew Mahoney, and Tommy Mahoney also qualified for National History Day. Abby’s individual exhibit tracked the way three key supreme court cases impacted reproductive rights in the United States. While Matthew and Tommy’s project focused on The Rape of Nanking.

This strong showing continues Bedford’s streak of sending at least one project to History Fair nationals every year since 2005.
