Are you tired of seeing everyone wearing the same Amazon corset in various colors then saying they’re a princess? Here’s some creative and a little less basic costume ideas for this Halloween!
Madeline’s Suggestions
One cute idea is Pearl from the movie Pearl, there are two versions of this costume you could possibly do. You could wear her red dress from the audition scene, and wear your hair back with a bow. Or you could wear overalls with a blue shirt, red bandana, and an axe. A nice touch would be adding fake blood to the outfit and axe.
Another option is Starfire from Teen Titans Go. Depending on how committed you are you could wear a pink wig, an easier option would be pink clip in extensions or pink hairspray. For the outfit, you would need a purple skirt and top, and metallic accessories such as a belt and cuffs. This costume could also be a duo/couples costume, and the other person could be Raven or Robin.
One super cute idea is Paddington bear. For this one a simple outfit would be a dark wash jean skirt, paired with a deep red top and a dark blue cardigan. Another variation could be a khaki skirt with a blue coat and red boots. You could also add a red rain hat or bear ears for an extra special touch.
A costume on the creepier side is the Other Mother from Coraline. For this one, you would need a black dress with white polka dots for the main outfit. The Other Mother’s hair is in a black bob, but it isnt the most important part fo the costume. She has button eyes, which a pretty difficult component, but you could wear circle sunglasses or draw them on. You would also need a red lip, beauty mark above your lip, and a choker or key necklace.
The final idea is Puss in Boots from Shrek. I think this idea is really cute and pretty unique. For this one, you could wear an orange top, a black skirt, and boots. For the accessories you would need a sword, a belt, a black cloak, and a cowboy-like hat with a feather. You could also add cat ears if you didn’t like the idea of wearing a hat.

Princess Jasmine : Make sure the base of your outfit consists of colors that are blue, or turquoise. Wearing Harem pants, and a cropped lace top, with some golden sandals will complete the outfit look! For makeup, do a simple look, with some mascara and brown, dark lip color. For a hairstyle, give yourself a blowout for volume and tie your hair back leaving the front loose.
Cleopatra: A simple way to dress up as Cleopatra is to wear a long maxi dress, tube dress, or a fitted tunic. Tie a golden belt around your waist, and add a wide collar with golden fabric, sequence, gems, or decorated details for your neck. For makeup, you want to serve majesty, and make sure your eyes look the most appealing. Use bold black eyeliner on your eyes with extended wings with both the upper and lower lines extended outwards, bronze your skin, and wear rich red lipstick.
Lara Croft: Lara Croft is a bold, and tough character! All you need is a black fitted plain top, green shorts, small boots, black gloves, and a utility belt with a fake climbing axe. For the makeup look, give yourself some dirt smudges, fake scrapes, soft pink lips and smudged liner.
