New Teacher Profile – Ms. Shadeed

The Bedford Lookout recently interviewed Bedford High School’s newest hirees,  Ms. Shadeed,  the new Program Director of Counseling. Read on to find out more about her! 

What made you decide to become the program director of counseling?

More than half of my 21-year career in education has been as a school/college counselor and I spent the last two years as a school principal. I learned that I enjoy being a school leader and confirmed for myself that my true passion is school counseling. Director of Counseling is the ideal way to blend those two things together!”

What is one thing you are excited about for this school year?

The people! I am excited to meet students, staff, and families at BHS and JGMS”

What is your favorite thing about counseling?

I believe that all students deserve to be seen, known, and supported. School counselors get to do this every single day.”

Do you have any children and/or pets?

Two kiddos (one in 6th grade, one in 2nd grade); no pets…yet”

What are your passions outside of counseling?

Reading, doing puzzles, learning new things, spending time with family”

What is your favorite show/movie?

Highly recommend Veronica Mars, if you haven’t seen it”

What is one place that you would love to visit and/or your favorite place you have already visited?

I would love to drive cross-country, stopping to see as many sites and visit as many states as possible.”

What is your favorite season?

Definitely Fall”

What is your favorite food?

Lebanese za’atar bread (especially from Korbani’s Bakery in Methuen)”
